About Ann
I have almost 25 years of experience as a private coach and tutor for students of all ages, from elementary school to college, and over 10 years of experience specifically as a college admissions counselor. I’ve worked at premier educational consulting companies in the Bay Area (San Francisco and Palo Alto) helping students get into the top private high schools and colleges of their choice, including Stanford, UC Berkeley, Columbia, Duke and NYU.
I have a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Wellesley College and a master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum for secondary English from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Prior to private counseling, I taught high school English and elementary school ESL in Boston.
I grew up in NY/NJ, and after finishing up schooling in Boston, lived in San Francisco for fifteen years before moving to Oregon seven months before a tiny pandemic shut down the world (it was great timing). I currently live in Portland with my husband and two teenage kids, where I am still on the hunt for truly exceptional boba.

“Get it down. Take chances. It may be bad, but it’s the only way you can do anything really good.”
